Craft Talk with Daryl Farmer
The English Graduate Organization (EGO) invites students, faculty, and community members to an inspiring craft talk with Daryl Farmer, director of the MFA in Creative Writing program at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. This event, part of EGO's series, "A Concert of Ideas," offers attendees a unique opportunity to hear from a seasoned writer about the inspirations and creative passions that fuel his work. The talk will take place on Friday, February 7th, 2025, from 3-4 PM at the Student Success Center (Room 660 in the Rasmuson Library), with a Zoom option available.
Daryl Farmer is an award-winning writer whose books, Where We Land and Bicycling Beyond the Divide, reflect his deep connection to the American landscape and spirit of exploration. His work blends travel, personal experience, and rich storytelling, making him an engaging voice in contemporary literature. As the head of UAF’s MFA in Creative Writing program, Farmer is dedicated to mentoring emerging writers and fostering a thriving literary culture.
This event is sponsored by EGO, a student-led organization that supports graduate students in the Department of English. EGO provides professional development opportunities, hosts literary events, and facilitates connections between students and faculty. Through initiatives like student readings, submission parties, and conference funding, EGO helps prepare its members for careers in academia, writing, and publishing.
