MISSION
Established at the request of the Alaska Federation of Natives, RAHI has been preparing rural and Alaska Native high school students for academic excellence and college success since 1983. Our mission is to empower rural and Alaska Native students to achieve their dreams through higher education.
At RAHI, students take an average of 9 college credits in six weeks and learn how to thrive academically by experiencing life on campus, enhancing self-confidence and discipline, and developing a state-wide community to carry with them throughout their lives. RAHI is offered at no cost to students.

I highly recommend this program! When I was in 11th grade I attended and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had in preparing for college. Jan 11, 2024Alaska Native and rural Alaska high schoolers are invited to apply for the Rural Alaska Honors Institute, a summer program where students take classes at the University of Alaska Fairbanks to earn college credit before they graduate high school.
